With a seemingly endless parade of key RBs inactive while on the reserve/COVID roster (Dalvin Cook, Austin Ekeler, Rhamondre Stevenson), injury is almost an odd thought, but With an imaginary championship landing on the road, every “problem” player has to shoulder the secondary meaning. There are still several key RBs, including Antonio Gibson, D’Andre Swift, Damien Harris and David Johnson, who will decide game time and will ask to await a final injury report. Does Antonio Gibson play Sunday night?

Gibson (toe) didn’t practice all week, but that could be partly due to Washington playing last Tuesday. Either way, his availability for Sunday evening in Dallas is in question.

Even with Gibson playing, it wouldn’t be surprising if he saw fewer touches than usual. He’s always had a decent ceiling because of his big play, but with a lower-than-usual floor, he’ll have a hard time waiting even if you have the handcuffs of Jaret Patterson and Jonathan Williams. Ultimately, with concerns about fit and neutral use, you should play it safe with someone other than Gibson, but if you feel the need to wait for him, make sure you have Patterson or Williams, the The person who is likely to break ties in Gibson is absent.

Does D’Andre Swift Play Week 16?

Perhaps a little surprised, Swift (shoulder) limited to practically the whole week and “problematic” for Sunday’s game against the Falcons. This is Swift’s first action since injuring her shoulder on Thanksgiving.

If Swift does play, he will only split time with Jamaal Williams, who will return from a two-match absence from the reserve/COVID roster. The surprise breakout Craig Reynolds might also be in, but the Lions won’t trigger Swift just to give him 5 touches. In a very favorable matchup, Swift would at least be RB2 in PPR tournaments and versatile in standard tournaments. Williams will be too, hitting a solid RB2 in both formats if Swift goes out.

Is Damien Harris playing Week 16?

Harris (hamstring) limited to practically the whole week, but he seems to be trending after a week’s absence. It’s always been hard to tell for the Patriots, but in a monster division game with Buffalo and with Rhamondre Stevenson (sub/COVID) out, Harris will play a much-needed role.

If he’s active, Harris is an easy “start”. Buffalo’s defense struggled through the stretch, and we knew New England weren’t afraid to back down. Harris can easily see 20 touches in this phase, making him the RB1 on the edge in standard and a solid RB2 in PPR. If he goes out, Brandon Bolden (knee) will see most of the carry with JJ Taylor also in. Bolden will be a decent RB2 in PPR and versatile in standards.

Is David Johnson playing Week 16?

Johnson (four) no practice this week, so it’s a bit surprising that he was even listed as “problematic” during Sunday’s game against the Chargers.

It looks like Johnson will be absent, opening the door for Rex Burkhead to 15 more touches of the ball. While that may not sound exciting, it could offer a decent amount of production to counter the Charger protection that allows second-most fantasy points to the RB. The Royce Freeman will also be touched, but Burkhead is the only one worth trying as an RB2.
