Delonte West agrees to a consent agreement in the event of an obstacle
Delonte West has agreed to pay $100 to settle a criminal case related to an October incident outside a police station in Boynton Beach, Florida.
The incident happened in Boynton Beach, Florida in October.
West is said to have smashed a glass window in the lobby of the Boynton Beach police department while shouting profanities and homophobic slurs. Reports also say that he was keeping two barrels of wine open.
West then shied away from the police and was ordered to put his liquor container on the ground. After complying, police reported that he reached for his belt. A police officer then pulled out a Taser and West “continued to be belligerent and shouting obscenities and slurs” while he was ushered into a patrol car.
Police reported that he reeked of alcohol and that his speech was slurred. He was “against an officer without violence, was drunk and disorderly, and had an open crate”, before being released on bail according to WPTV.
West suffers from bipolar disorder and addiction and he hasn’t played in the NBA since 2012.
