A devoted North American boxing fan must have known that Anthony Joshua will try to regain the heavyweight belt he lost last fall to Oleksandr Usyk when he rematched the Ukrainian master in October. next weekend in Saudi Arabia. What North America’s devoted boxing fans don’t know, however, is how to watch that bout on Saturday. Question Now Answered – North Americans will be able to watch Usyk-Joshua 2 live from their home in North America on the DAZN streaming service starting at noon on Saturday, Eastern Time. What’s even more exciting for North American fans is the news that the match won’t be a pay-per-view event in this part of the world.
Usyk surprised some people last September when he beat the famous Joshua in Joshua’s hometown of England to become the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight champion. Joshua, however, was not one to give in when lying down (just ask Andy Ruiz) and so a rematch was made. Truth be told, the war might have ended soon had Russia not invaded Usyk’s homeland of Ukraine last winter. However, after socializing with his countrymen, Usyk was allowed by the government to fight Joshua again.
“I’m working hard in my training camp to be in the best shape possible for the rematch,” Usyk told DAZN. “With God’s help, I will overcome the greatest challenges to make it happen. I want the crowd to get excited about the fight. I want them to remember that for the rest of their lives.” Former champion Joshua is also eager for a memorable evening. “August 20 is set to be an unbelievable night for championship-level boxing,” he said. “For any sports fan, this is a must-see. It has all the ingredients to go down in boxing history.”
DAZN will broadcast the war in nearly 200 different countries, while the UK, Ireland, Ukraine and MENA will have different broadcasting options. “One of the biggest heavyweight rematches in the history of the sport,” DAZN said on its news site, “‘Rage on the Red Sea’ will see Joshua (24-2, 22). KOs) looking to avenge his defeat in September 2021 against Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs), who is placing his WBA, IBF and WBO belts in a career-defining clash. ”
