Corrections NZ announces $5 million EHR deal

New Zealand’s Department of Corrections is adopting a patient management system from Canada to improve healthcare for people in custody.

The company recently signed a NZ$9 million ($5.3 million) deal with EHR solutions provider Intrahealth to provide PMS for seven years.

In a statement, Intrahealth said its solution “will improve operational efficiency by automating tasks, reducing paperwork, and simplifying processes, freeing up healthcare teams to focus on providing quality patient care.” The PMS will also ensure patient data privacy through advanced security protocols and regular audits.


Gold Coast Health trials AI scribe

Outpatient departments across Gold Coast Health in Queensland are trialling a AI transcription to reduce time spent on clinical transcription.

Lyrebird Health’s ambient listening solution combines speech-to-text technology with AI to automate clinical note-taking and documentation.

More than 70 experts are participating in the first phase of testing, which aims to validate the use of the technology for future organization-wide deployment.


NSW GPs get access to BI platform

The Hunter New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network in New South Wales is helping GP businesses improve their financial health by expanding access to a business intelligence platform.

GPs participating in the PHN Sustainability and Viability Initiative can now get 12 months of free access to Cubiko’s Sustainability Support Platform. The data analytics platform supports clinics in optimizing their operational efficiency and financial performance.


New Personify Care digital roadmap rolling out in Western Australia, New Zealand

Endoscopy and Gastroscopy Units at Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Group (FSFHG) in Western Australia is now equipped with a digital patient care system powered by Personify Care.

Personify Care’s digital pathways were initially deployed to enhance The LifeFit SurgFit program is from South Metropolitan Health Service, a network of which FSFHG is a part.

Colonoscopy and gastroscopy patients are now automatically enrolled in the program through simultaneous integration with the WebPAS patient management system. Their patient-reported information is also automatically uploaded to the BOSSnet digital medical record.

Based on the press release, the two-way integration with digital medical records and PAS is helping to reduce patient screening times, detect clinical risks early, and reduce appointment cancellation rates and wait times.

According to Personify Care, the implementation will streamline the patient admission process, increase patient flow, and reduce the uncertainties associated with hospital admissions.
