Having your camera bag stolen is one thing. But what if you could track it down?
I have been following Benj Haisch for a long time. For those who don’t know him, he is a great wedding photographer who also puts out a fair amount of content. Some of the content he creates revolves around gear reviews and videos showing how he uses gear. So it makes sense that when he goes on a family trip, he also brings some gear to use. For this particular trip, it just so happens that Sony a9 III and one Hasselblad 907x with a few lenses and accessories. In total, the purchase price would be over $25,000.

But right before the trip, Benj happened to share a video on Instagram talking about a new product. Smallrig Accessories that allows him to attach a Apple AirTag with his camera. This was a great time for him because due to some unfortunate events, he had his entire camera bag stolen during the trip. But after using AirTag to track everything, he was able to confront the thieves. In the video, you will see how he handled the situation as well as what happened to get all of his equipment back.
An important note, it’s probably not a good idea to confront a thief without the help of law enforcement. So don’t take this as a how-to video on what to do, but rather an entertaining story with a metaphorical lesson that being able to track your device can be really useful!
