College Football Betting Odds Week 9: How to Bet on Wyoming-Washington, Pick

The Utah Utes (3-1 in Pac-12 Conference game, 4-3 final) played at Washington state cougars (1-3, 4-3) under the lights on Thursday night as a competitive series continues.

Utes, who entered the Pac-12 in 2011, leads an all-time 10-9 streak, winning the past three competitions after stopping WSU’s four-game winning streak.

I love my Pac-12 conference. Because of that love, I felt let down with our conference. Why would the Utah Utes – preseason championship contenders – hit the road to play a football game on Thursday night at one of the two convention venues where strange things happen? Just ask USC this question. Who, in 2017, went to Pullman on Friday night as the nation’s fifth-placed team and finished with a 30-27 defeat? Yes, the Trojans.

This is not a decent place for ranked teams to compete under the Martin Stadium lights. However, I don’t understand Washington State with the points. I’ll go with Under.

Washington State is 4-3, and in six games for the Cougars, the Under team. That’s because Cougars are excellent defensively but very limited in scoring when attacking. In terms of defence, they are 29th in points per drive and are led by a defense that has a high destruction rate. Ron Stone Jr., Brennan Jackson and Daiyan Henley there are 46 combined pressures and 20 tackles to loss.

Utah’s offensive line is 90th in allowable pressure and 118th in blown block percentage in the running game. Washington State should succeed in slowing Utah’s crime with its ability to control the script line. Utah’s offense is pretty straightforward. Get the ball into the head tight Dalton Kincaid. USC, Utes’ ultimate rival, can’t seem to figure this out. But I’m willing to bet the Cougars man has the answer for him. They have shown the ability to block powerful attacks such as USC and Oregon State in their last two games.

Washington State offense can’t score. When the cougar organizes Duck, they scored 41 points and produced all four of their explosive passes on unsustainable dribbles and on Hail Mary throws. It’s an exception game. Outside of that game, they are averaging 25 points per game. In their last three games, that number dropped to 14 points. Cougars don’t make explosive passes. They ranked 103rd for explosive passing and 119th in the air per pass. Unsurprisingly, their third-to-average distance is 8.4 yards. Sorry. Their attack, ranked 115th in pressure ratio, is really struggling. And during their brief goodbye week, the Cougars announced that they had made some changes to that unit.

Utah’s defense isn’t what it used to be. Utes allowed 42 points in head-to-head matches against UCLA and USC. Both of those offenses rank in the top 15 countries for effectiveness. When they commit more serious crimes like the State of Oregon and State of Arizonathey allowed 13 and 16 points.

Washington State offense will not be able to score in this game. That’s why it’s so hard to get points with Cougars. Utah can have a weird game and still win 24-13 and cover.
