Climate Denier Nigel Farage took money from Big Oil to campaign for cheaper energy – Are you successful with that?

Is DeSmog trying to give ordinary Brits a reason to vote for Farage?

Reform UK has received more than £2.3 million from oil and gas interests, highly polluting industries and climate science deniers since December 2019, accounting for 92% of its donations. party.

Over the past 12 months, Reform has received £200,000 from First Corporate Consultants. This company is owned by Terence Mordaunta director and former president of Global Warming Policy Fund (GWPF), the UK’s leading climate science denial group.

Caroline Lucas: “No political party should receive any money from fossil fuel interests.”until recently, the Green Party MP for Brighton Pavilion, told DeSmog.

Speaking on GB News in August 2021, Farage said that he is “very much an environmentalist” and that he cannot “follow things like plastic in the sea, pollution in our rivers”. However, on the issue of climate change, he added: “However, what bothers me is this the complete obsession with carbon dioxide almost excludes everything else, alarmism that comes with it, based on cunning and scientific predictions.

“The deniers are the people who continually make the public think you can stop these powerful natural forces. We must use the energy at our feet instead of sending money and jobs abroad.

Imagine using whatever former Green MP Caroline Lucas said as a yardstick for your appropriate political behavior, after she was criticized for misusing public resources for political fundraising.

The inference that DeSmog Farage is dancing to the tune of fossil fuel interests is absurd. It’s the other way around. Businessmen are increasingly backing Farage because they believe Britain is being run by a multitude of idiots who are bringing the country to ruin and are clinging to the hope that Farage will bring sanity to the economy economy under Thatcher.

Anyone who has met Nigel Farage in person knows immediately that Farage is not one to compromise his principles.

I once had the honor of having a 20-minute live chat with Nigel Farage. At the time, Farage was actively campaigning in preparation for the London Assembly elections. I told him frankly that I was leaving England, so there was no political benefit to talking to me. That was before I started writing for WUWT, so other than a few letters to the editor, I don’t have any public profile. But he found what I was saying so interesting that he hung out with me for 20 minutes and talked about politics. Farage is that kind of person – a human being first, a politician second.

DeSmog argues that fossil fuel interests are immoral and that greed in general is equally ridiculous.

Get Caudrilla energy. Caudrilla CEO Francis Egan has been trying since 2007 to get a mining license 6.5 billion cubic feet of fracking gas lies under Lancashire.

Can you imagine hanging in there for 17 years with your business stagnating, hoping that one of the useless bureaucrats and politicians sabotaging Whitehall will have the courage to sign a piece of paper? Egan is not a young man, he is close to retirement age – he may die of old age before receiving that license.

Does anyone really believe that Egan spent 17 years campaigning tirelessly to bring affordable energy to the British people, because he is a greedy fossil fuel businessman? He could easily take his skills and experience somewhere they would appreciate it, instead of waiting 17 years for a day that may never come.

Can you imagine how much lower heating bills would be if some of those billions of cubic feet of natural gas were piped into Lancashire’s gas network? People can actually turn on the heating in their home without checking their bank balance first. I’m sure Egan could have imagined this, and his vision of a Britain where energy is affordable is what keeps Egan going – no other explanation makes sense.

The DeSmog blog also promotes Ridiculous claims that renewable energy is affordable.

People may have once believed the lie about cheap renewable energy, but even with the left-wing government-funded BBC in the green corner, the days when people in Britain took everything the greens said followed The denomination went up in flames, along with their retirement savings, after prices rose. crazy after the Russian gas embargo.

If Caudrilla had been allowed to ramp up production to maximum a decade ago, if Britain had been completely energy independent thanks to abundant supplies from local fracking, the Russian gas embargo would not have affected energy prices within the UK.

Farage’s UK Reform Party is the party with a sensible plan to make Britain great again, by using fossil fuel revenue to reduce taxes for everyone and by making energy affordable into the UK gas network, rather than exposing the UK to the uncertainties and high prices of the global energy market. No other mainstream British political party has a credible plan to achieve this. Perhaps we should thank the DeSmog Blog for helping to publicize why a vote for Reform is a vote for lower home heating costs and better job prospects.
