Germany’s radical, porn-fearing health minister, Karl Lauterbach, has once again caused controversy with another wild exaggeration of his apocalypse.
Italy’s tourism minister is not happy
Nius.de reports here Italy is “angry with the German health minister” how is spending summer vacation in Italian Tuscany. Since the end of Corona and the beginning of summer, Lauterbach has made extreme heat Germany’s number one health problem and has been busy exaggerating Europe’s frequent summer heat as some sort of threat to humanity.
“No Future”
During his most recent prison break, Lauterbach tweeted about Italy’s once popular summer vacation destinations: “Went to Bologna Italy today, now to Tuscany. Heat waves are spectacular here. If things continue like this, these resort destinations have no future in the long term. Climate change is destroying southern Europe. An era is coming to an end.”

tourism minister Daniela Santanchè took issue with Lauterbach’s bizarre tweet: “In any case, we are sure that Germans will increasingly appreciate vacations in Italy,” adding: “I thank the German Health Minister for choosing Italy as a destination, which has always been a favorite holiday destination for his compatriots. And of course we look forward to welcoming him again in the future.”
Lauterbach does not use “objective data”
Giuseppe Ciminnisi, president of the Fiavet tourism association, accused Mr Lauterbach of misrepresenting weather and climate data, telling Germany’s FAZ that he should analyze the matter “on the basis of objective data to prove his point”.
It turns out that Italy’s hot weather is exactly what Germans who lack warm weather are looking for. Opinion of Nius.de: “According to Ciminnisi, Italy this year is ‘overcrowded’ with tourists. According to the forecast of the polling company ‘Demoskopika’, it is expected that 68 million tourists will visit Italy this summer, more than 35 million of them from abroad – that would be a new record.”
Bologna summer temperatures are normal
German energy expert Professor Fritz Vahrenholt reacted to Lauterbach’s statements during the German talk “stimmt”: “It was really terrible because we knew that on the day he landed there, the temperature was basically 30°C and the following week it was no more than 31°C. By the way, that’s normal in Bologna. In July in Bologna, the average high temperature for the past 30 years was 32°C. That means he could say instead that we’re seeing a comfortable temperature, not as hot as it should be. But, he must instill fear in the people.”
The heat crisis seems to be only on Karl Lauterbach’s mind. Vahrenholt added that 15 million Germans are heading to Southern Europe for summer vacation this year.
Lauterbach is among them. Can 15 million Germans be wrong about that?
