Whether it’s at the supermarket or an emergency security line at the airport, paying a higher price than you’re used to doesn’t make anyone happy.
Unfortunately, that’s the reality for some Ventilation members. Those who receive a discounted rate on their annual Clear membership will see the price increase starting February 1.
There’s good news, though: You can still get your annual Clear membership for free.

Discounts Obviously prices are going up
May 2022, Clear increased the annual membership price from $179 to $189. That is the standard price for an adult membership per person.
However, Clear offers discounted memberships to Delta SkyMiles and United MileagePlus members. Depending on your elite status in these programs, you may even be able to get a free Clear membership. However, coming soon, the discount rate that you get only for becoming a Delta or United member will increase.

Starting February 1, the discounted membership price will change as follows, according to a Clear spokesperson:

- Joint members of Delta SkyMiles and United MileagePlus: The new price is $179 per year. Previously, these members enjoyed a discounted rate of $119 per year. These members also get a 14-day free trial of Clear.
- Delta Silver, Gold, and Platinum Medalists: $149 a year. Previously, these members enjoyed a discounted rate of $109 per year.
- United Premier Silver, Gold and Platinum members: $149 per year. Previously, these members enjoyed a discounted rate of $109 per year.
- Delta Air Lines and United Airlines credit cardholders: $149 a year. Previously, these members enjoyed a discounted rate of $109 per year.
- Delta Diamond Medallion and 360º members: You will continue to enjoy the free membership.
- United Premier 1K and Global Services members: You will continue to enjoy the free membership.
Unless you have top elite status with Delta Airlines or unified airline, the discount you see on your next account renewal will be lower than last year’s discount. The new prices will go into effect on February 1, but you won’t see these higher prices until your next account renewal. If you’ve been meaning to join and want a lower price to become a Delta or United member, you’ll want to act pretty quickly.
You can still get Clear for free
Remember that you can get a free Clear membership just by having the right credit card in your wallet. The following cards will set you back up to $189 per year with a Clear membership cost:

Hearing that your discounted membership will be “less discounted” in the future is not good news. That said, you can still get a free Clear membership each year—or to get a membership for two adults for a very cheap price, depending on what’s in your wallet and the state of your wallet.
