Chihuahua-type Toy Fox Terrier is ‘World’s Oldest Dog’ just weeks after being awarded
Just a few weeks ago, a tiny tanned Chihuahua named “Toby Keith” was declared the “World’s Oldest Dog” by the Guinness Book of Records. As you’d expect, a dog that lives longer than two decades has been widely discussed and made tons of headlines all over the internet. But, as it turns out, there is a Toy Fox Terrier named Pebbles that is actually bigger.
Normally, you would not expect a world record to be broken so quickly. But after Pebbles’ parents saw a news clip showing Toby Keith accepting the prize for the oldest dog alive, they quickly did the math and realized that their dog companion was indeed their dog. the was a little bigger.
“Bobby was sitting on the couch and friends and family started texting and calling about a story they saw about a 21-year-old dog hitting a record. When I saw TobyKeith’s story all over the press, I signed up,” shared Julie, Pebbles’ mother.

The Guinness Book of World Records has just confirmed that Toby Keith was born on January 9, 2001, making him 21 years and 66 days old. However, they also claim that Pebbles was born on March 28, 2000. So up to the present time, Soi has worn the crown at the age of 22 years and 59 days.
