Two Chicago men could be in a lot of trouble, after two men “jumped” an officer who they said was racist, and wrongly arrested a man, MTO News reported.
Whether they go to jail, or are hailed as heroes by the community – it all depends on whether this officer is racist against Blacks.
What is clear is that the two men hit the officer. The question remains – was it reasonable for them to get their hands on the cop?
It all just depends on whether or not the police officer is on a mission to arrest those men. If he wasn’t – legal experts told MTO News the officer could be seen as “assaulting” the men.
And Two men can be justified against an attacker – even if that attacker is a police officer.
What we do know for sure, is that the men hit the officer, as video footage of two men beating the officer went live across social media.
According to online reports, the officer attempted to “detain” one of the men for unknown reasons. The Supreme Court has ruled that police officers cannot “detain” any person unless they have a reasonable suspicion, based on concrete and clearly descriptive facts with reasonable inferences, on suspicion that the person has committed a crime, is committing a crime, or is about to commit a crime.
Reports on social media suggested that the only “suspicious” the officer had – that the man was Black. The official has so far not commented on what happened.
But after “detaining” the Chicago man, his friend came to his aid, and the two jumped officers.
