The annual stop on the PGA Tour calendar has changed since players last saw it. Colonial Country Club will once again play host to the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge and debut a newly renovated layout for players to tackle. Chief among this week’s competitors in Fort Worth, Texas, is the man who lives just down the street, Scottie Scheffler.

The world No. 1 returned to Colonial after a tumultuous week in Louisville and finally broke into the top 10 again. Although Scheffler was unable to continue his quest for a Grand Slam title on the calendar, he continued to finish in the top 10, currently ranked 9th in a row.

In this tournament, the Texan has collected four trophies and will look to win five at a golf course that has treated him well in the past with a third-place finish a year ago and a loss Sam Burns in the playoffs in 2022. Another player who has fond memories of Colonial is Jordan Spieth, Scheffler’s Texas Longhorn colleague.

A winner at this golf course nearly a decade ago, Spieth has made a habit of competing at this venue with eight top-10 finishes to his name. While his form is in question, Spieth’s love for the property is not. Both Scheffler and Spieth were joined by several U.S. Ryder Cup teammates, including Collin Morikawa, Max Homa and Brian Harman.

Tony Finau, Min Woo Lee, Tom Kim, Si Woo Kim and Min Woo Lee will assemble a strong lineup of players for this comprehensive event. With the summer months fast approaching, the Charles Schwab Challenge provides a great opportunity for players to get into the meat of the PGA Tour season with an exciting start in Texas.
