On Wednesday, the Hip-Hop community lost another legend, and many celebrities spoke out following the shocking news.
As previously reported, rapper Coolio died at the age of 59 because it was suspected that he might have suffered a cardiac arrest. Since the news of his passing, many of his colleagues have spoken out as they remember Coolio for his influence on the culture.
Ice Cube took to Twitter following the news and said, “This is sad news. I witnessed firsthand the honing of this man to reach the top of the industry. Rest in peace @Coolio. “

Quest Love, Snoop Dogg and Martin Lawrence also took to social media to offer their condolences.

Vanilla Ice, the last artist Coolio performed on, spoke to TMZ and expressed shock at the news and said he was “still in shock and panic” on Thursday morning. The two performed together last week in Cypress, TX as part of “I Love The 90”.

In addition to the classic single “Gangstas Paradise,” Coolio has many other hits, and he was also responsible for the theme song for the classic 90s Nickelodeon sitcom “Kenan & Kel.”
One of the show’s two stars, Kel Mitchell, spoke to TMZ about Coolio and shared that they stayed in touch throughout the years and even called him a favorite uncle.
Like before mentioned, it was reported that Coolio was visiting a friend on Wednesday afternoon when he passed away. His manager, Jarez, said he went to the bathroom at his friend’s house, and that his friend went looking for him after noticing he was gone for a while. He was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.
The official cause of death has yet to be determined, but it is suspected he may have suffered a cardiac arrest.
