Canterbury Park Executive Offerman to join NYRA


The New York Racing Association announced on October 12 the appointment of Andrew Offerman as vice president and general manager of operations. In this newly created position, starting November 11, Offerman will oversee operations ahead at Aqueduct race track, Belmont Parkand Racecourse Saratoga.

“Andrew is a seasoned executive and proven leader who will bring significant skills to the talent pool,” said Dave O’Rourke, NYRA President & CEO. capabilities that we gathered at the NYRA. “He is a strategic thinker who understands that horse racing is evolving rapidly, and we are delighted to welcome him in this wide-ranging new role.”

Prior to NYRA, Offerman served as senior vice president of racing operations at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minn. In this role, he is responsible for many of Canterbury’s operating divisions, including front racing functions.

“NYRA sets the gold standard in our sport and I appreciate this opportunity to help shape the future of the organization,” Offerman said. “My experiences at Canterbury Park have prepared me for this next chapter and I am delighted that this will be the best and most important racing organization in the country. A native of Minneapolis, Offerman earned an MS from the University of Arizona’s Track Industry Program and a Bachelor’s degree from Gustavus Adolphus College. He joined Canterbury in a full-time role in 2010.
