The year 2022 is coming to an end. There have been a number of standout releases this year, including lenses, bodies, and accessories. But what is camera of the year? Take a look and see which awards top the Pixel Awards run by industry influencers.
Another year is almost over. For me, in terms of gearshifts, it’s very quiet. Too quiet for my liking, but I’m sure I’ll be back for some extra lavish shopping in the new year. And I have my eye on a few things, the least of which is Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L . Lens. It’s not a new lens, though, so I’m not sure it earns a spot in the annual gear award that vloggers, bloggers, and industry organizations love.
And that brings us to this amazing video from Chelsea and Tony Northrup, in which they go through the list of prizes during their annual Pixel awards ceremony. While this may not be an official ceremony, with 1.56 million YouTube subscribers, Northrups certainly holds some influence in the photography industry and it’s always interesting to hear them use the equipment, even if I don’t always agree with them. In this video, they go through the entire award category including but not limited to: smartphone camera of the year, innovation of the year, lens of the year and, of course, camera of the year. What is their verdict on the latter? Canon R10. At $779, it’s a pretty controversial option, so watch the video and let me know what you think.
