Budget 2023: Government reduces B2 driving test fees for PSV categories for motorbikes, taxis, buses and e-bikes
Malaysia’s revised 2023 budget is currently being presented by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in parliament and as usual we will focus on automobile and transport related matters.
Anwar, who is also the finance minister, said the government would reduce the fees for B2 motorbike license exams, taxis, buses and e-scooters. This is good news for the vast majority of motorcyclists (B2 is for motorcycles under 250cc) as well as those who are applying for a PSV license. However, it is not new. In the original of the previous administration’s 2023 Budget last October, this same point was suggested.
The B2 license exam fee is currently set at RM17 for Part 1 and RM20 for Part 2 (includes motorbike rental and use of the race track). Most driving schools charge between RM500 and RM800 for a B2 motorcycle license, which includes tuition, training sessions and test bike rental.
