An attorney for Brian Laundrie’s family has confirmed that he died by suicide.
Attorney Steven Bertolino said: “Chris and Roberta Laundrie have been informed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and that the manner of death was suicide.
Laundrie’s remains were found last month after police searched for him for weeks, days after his fiancée Gabby Petito was reported missing.

Petito’s attorney says there are others who could face charges. Laundrie returned home alone after Petito went missing and then returned to the street after being questioned by the police. Some think his parents may be charged.
“The Schmidt and Petito families are aware of the circumstances surrounding the suicide of the sole suspect in Gabby’s murder,” attorney Richard Stafford said in a statement. “The Gabby family will not be releasing a statement at this time due to requests from the United States Attorney’s Office and the Teton County Prosecutor’s Office.”
