BMW’s first M-branded motorcycle now has a Lego set

Last year, BMW unveils M 1000 RR motorcycle. It was the first time motorcycle wear the M badge like By BMW performance car, and it has 212 horsepower to back it up. But with only 500 examples built around the world, it’s not easy to grasp. If you missed out, or simply have enough money to buy one, BMW has partnered with Lego to sell a scaled version of the bike.

This kit makes for a sizable demo of the M 1000 RR. The scale is first: 5, and the length of the bike is just under 18 inches. It consists of 1,920 individual pieces.

Present a set of Lego Technic, the bike also has some interesting functions. Most impressive is the fact it has an active manual transmission. With three gears and neutral, it’s a few gears shorter than it really is, but it’s still pretty cool. It also has functional suspension and an actual transmission and transmission for the rear wheels.

Lego BMWs don’t go on sale until January 1, so you’ll have to wait until after the holiday to pick one up. It will also cost $229.99. Not cheap, but certainly more manageable than the real thing.
