Nubia RedMagic, the gaming arm of Chinese manufacturer ZTE, has been launching a value-oriented gaming phone since 2015. The latest, the RedMagic 7 Pro, is one of the most complete devices we’ve seen. tested so far.
From the start, the phone looks like a real gaming phone, with a bold design and edgy aesthetic. The Supernova variant has a transparent back panel that showcases a host of game-focused features in the device, like a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 16GB of RAM, an Octa-core CPU, a massive 5,000mAh battery, and a selling point. RedMagic’s main product: a 20,000 RPM Turbofan. That fan along with a bunch of cooling elements inside the phone keeps the phone from overheating and the battery from rapidly degrading – both common problems with gaming phones.
RedMagic 7 Pro has a huge 6.8-inch, 120Hz AMOLED display to display all the stylish animations and icons of its Android 12 based software. Fire up any game and Nubia’s (and Turbofan) GameSpace comes into play, giving you plenty of in-game controls, switches, and plugins. One of them allows you to map your phone’s shoulder triggers, giving you an extra dimension of input no matter what game you play.
