ASX-listed medical data analytics company Beamtree has signed a contract to provide AI technology to improve clinical coding at Dr Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Services Group (HMG).
The A$3.6 million ($2.4 million) contract includes implementation of Beamtree’s PICQ, automating clinical record triage checks, and RippleDown, supportingps evaluates clinical coding automation opportunities.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
The implementation of data analytics is intended to assist HMG in determining human resource and technology resource requirements in future hospital coding activities.

“This is an important milestone for Beamtree as we expand our work in the kingdom into the private sector,” said chief executive Tim Kelsey.
The HMG contract marks Beamtree’s foray into the Saudi private healthcare sector after introducing its clinical coding technologies in the kingdom’s public healthcare system.
It has been assisting the National Health Insurance Center in examining the data quality of public hospitals. It is also involved in developing the kingdom’s health information strategy.
Beamtree has also made its way into the locality commercial agreement with Lean Business Services to create and promote integrated clinical coding solutions for health services locally and internationally.
Meanwhile, Beamtree was recently tasked with building one data analytics platform for the Health Roundtable network for hospitals and health facilities in Australia and New Zealand.
