Author Megan Bettencourt speaks out after her IG account used her photo to Troll Nicki Minaj

Don’t believe everything you see on the intranet, chile! In Monday, Nicki Minaj was the target of an online scammer who accused them of being her former assistant. The now-deleted Instagram account made multiple posts behind the alias ‘KateMiller_7,’ with a profile picture with the author Megan Bettencourtwho spoke out on Twitter on Wednesday.

Responding to an article written by Newsweek, Bettencourt clarified that she was not the one trying to spill Nicki’s tea from the burner account.

Just to be clear: I never had a secret life as @NICKIMINAJ’s ‘old assistant’. Someone stole my photo and used it in a fake account. Fraudulent impersonation is not how I envisioned it when mentioned in @Newsweek, but hey, scammers will scam. Thanks to everyone who warned me about my photos being stolen and used by a fake account accusing @NICKIMINAJ. Lock down your privacy settings, people! “

As we previously reported, Nicki has directly posted to the forum to bring out all of the “Kate Miller” allegations and claim that it’s definitely not a former employee of hers behind the site. Nicki also responded to Bettencourt on Twitter and jokingly offered her a job.

It remains unclear who is behind the account, but Nicki alleges that “a child” told lies.

But, it’s not even like that. That tea sound is so stupid. And for one to believe it, you would have to be dumbfounded. It’s clearly a child.”
