Audi A6 E-Tron 2025 brings all the advantages of Q6 E-Tron into a Sedan model

The Audi Q6 E-Tron It may not be the cornering car we’d like on tight, winding roads, but it shows that Audi really isn’t messing around with its EVs anymore. It rides on a new platform, offers plenty of range, and feels incredibly comfortable and well-built. Now, Audi has used that same platform to build a sedan. Meet the 2025 Audi A6 and S6 E-Tron.

Audi has certainly put a lot of emphasis on aerodynamics with the A6’s exterior design. The company claims the European version with its virtual mirrors has a drag coefficient of just 0.21, making it the slickest Audi ever built. Unfortunately for us, that means the A6 E-Tron has a forgettable look, broken only by its busy front end. We’re partial to the S6’s styling, but that’s probably understandable.

In more exciting news, though, you’ll get a liftback instead of a traditional trunk. There’s also a wagon version, but it’s unclear whether we’ll ever get one, so we won’t dwell too much on the potentially banned stuff. If Audi confirms the A6 Avant E-Tron is coming to the US, we’ll be sure to let you know.

If you’re familiar with the Q6 E-Tron, you’ll recognize the A6’s interior. As far as we can tell, it’s virtually identical to its crossover sibling, and that’s certainly not a bad thing. You get the same 11.9-inch driver’s display, as well as a 14.5-inch infotainment screen and an optional 14.5-inch passenger display. Assuming it’s built to the same standards as the Q6, expect a very comfortable cabin with high-quality materials that you won’t want to spend much time in.

As for range, the A6 E-Tron has a 100 kWh battery with a usable capacity of 94.4 kWh. EPA figures have yet to be released. In the more extensive European test cycle, Audi claims a range of more than 460 miles, but in the US, we expect an official range in the high 300s. Its 800-volt system can charge at up to 270 kW, allowing you to charge from 10 to 80 percent in 21 minutes if you can find a fast enough charger.

Speaking of speed, Audi says the rear-wheel-drive A6 E-Tron makes 362 horsepower and hits 60 mph in 5.2 seconds. Upgrade to the 422-horsepower all-wheel-drive version and that number drops to 4.3 seconds. Go with the S6 E-Tron and you’ll get 496 horsepower, though if you use launch control it’ll make 543 horsepower for a short time. That’s enough to cut the S6’s 0-60 mph time to just 3.7 seconds.

Pricing in the US hasn’t been announced yet, and it’s unclear whether we’ll ever get the base rear-wheel-drive version or the wagon version that Audi has also announced. But based on European pricing, we’d guess the A6 will start in the low $70,000s, while the S6 will be about $20,000 more expensive. Orders open in September.
