The Malaysian Automobile Association (MAA) has released vehicle sales data for April 2024, announcing that a total of 57,991 vehicles were delivered to buyers last month. This was 13,061 units lower than the 71,052 units reported by the association in March, representing an 18.4% decrease in volume.
The association said last month’s drop in numbers was due to the short working month due to the Hari Raya holiday.
Compared to the same month in 2023, the total number of units in April was 21.3% higher (equivalent to 10,189 units) compared to 47,802 units achieved last year. As for TIV numbers so far this year, the first four months of 2024 have seen 260,236 units delivered, 8.3% higher (20,019 units) than the 240,217 units administered during the same period of the year last.
Vehicle sales in May are expected to be slightly higher than in April, the association added.
