The Gold Coast City of Australia is about to shine even brighter — at least for World of Hyatt fanatics — when first Andaz will open in the coastal city next year.
Scheduled to open in mid-2025, Andaz Gold Coast will be part of a $1.3 billion mixed-use development called The Star Gold Coast, built in partnership between The Star Entertainment Group, Far East Consortium and Chow Tai Fook Enterprises (parent company of Rosewood Hotels).
Located on Broadbeach Island, the resort will feature 202 rooms and suites, three yet-to-be-announced food and beverage outlets, a pool deck with a sixth-floor bar, and a beach club with cabanas and dining. Additionally, the brand’s signature Andaz Lounge will be open all day for guests to enjoy a drink or snack.
The architectural design for the Andaz Gold Coast is being handled by Australian firm DBI Architects, while Hachem, the creative force behind W Melbourne, is handling the project’s interior design. The latter will focus on a theme “inspired by the fascinating transformation of sunlight as each day passes on the Gold Coast”.
“Hyatt has been in Australia for more than 40 years and we are excited to expand our luxury, lifestyle and entertainment offerings to sought-after destinations like the Gold Coast,” David Udell, president, Asia Pacific, Hyatt, said in a statement. “This resort will complement our existing portfolio of 10 hotels across five distinct brands in Australia, including Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Centric and Hyatt Place.”
Australia may have to wait until next year for the Andaz to open, but in the United States, all eyes are on Miami Beach, Florida, where the former Confidante is slated to reopen as the Andaz in December 2024. When it opens, the Andaz Miami Beach will feature a brand-new concept with 287 rooms, two pools, and brand-new food and beverage concepts from celebrity chef José Andrés.

Pricing for both projects has not been announced at this time, but we will share details as soon as we learn more about these two exciting Hyatt projects.
