We've covered the most important fashion topics that are circulating as the new season approaches, but now we're taking on trends on the verge of a major breakthrough. Many of you are probably familiar with what we call a microtrend here at Who What Wear — a trend that is still in its infancy, but so prevalent in the world of aesthetics and design until now. it's only a matter of time before it really explodes. The six things we're highlighting below have made some real waves for us to stop and take notice. From stunning sheer distances to Gaultier-style screen prints, first-timers take note — you'll want to check out this space. What's old is new, and that certainly applies to '90s style. Along with Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier is another hit designer that Gen-Z has recently rediscovered and carved out. restored, as demonstrated by the revival of anatomical screen prints. The trend has not yet reached the stage where it is readily available, but several indie brands such as Girlsgirlsgirlsbygracie and Forbidden Kn0wledge have cemented their position as the go-to source for body shaping products. Y/Project's Menswear A/W '22 collection features a range of these prints, so it's only a matter of time before it hits Zara.This micro-trend takes a little more effort to notice as the tracksuits are fairly honest and the sporty aesthetic is consistently loved in fashion sets. It's one of those trends that seems to be hiding in plain sight: Lately, I've been seeing fashionistas embrace fashion designs with wide-leg pants and heels. The results feel more purposeful and uplifting than the Gym class. I think it's a really cool thing to wear a loosely worn piece that's simple enough for you to understand for yourself.I've marked the return of corsets before, but this year it's all about wearing them with all-round coordination in a matching set. Miaou has been at the forefront of this micro trend with lots of fun prints and color corsets, but slowly other brands have followed suit. The dominant silhouette seems to be pointed boots, giving a much more polished and cooler feel than previous years' versions. I haven't bought a pair yet, but you should believe they're on my wish list.Arguably the most talked about trend on this list, micro minis hit the market late last year thanks to Miu Miu's SS'22 show. In record time, affordable versions have hit the market, but I have a feeling this is just the beginning. By now, you should know that it's not a microtrend rally that doesn't include something risky. Last year it was keyhole shots, this year it's shaping up to be the season of sheer nude illusion works.
