Key features include remote vehicle locking and unlocking, remote diagnostics and vehicle status checks, remote destination entry (sendable to the vehicle’s navigation system over the network), as well as Home to Vehicle integration. via Amazon Alexa.
The full feature set will come with a free three-year subscription with vehicle purchase, with certain features available for a fee after the trial period ends. Pricing has yet to be announced.
Most of Tonale’s competitors offer different levels of connected functionality and application compatibility, including Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
It’s unclear if this functionality will roll out on other Alfa Romeo models, as the Giulia and the larger Stelvio don’t have My Alfa Connect as part of their respective mid-life upgrades.
