Alcidion to expand the Department of Defense’s access to health records

Melbourne-based Alcidion will provide more medical technology capabilities to the Australian Defense Force.

In a statement, the company said it has expanded its partnership with Leidos Australia, which has contracted to provide digital health technologies to ADF.

Alcidion has received an additional AU$8.4 million (US$6 million) contract for 57 months to deploy its Miya Precision health analytics platform to more ADF installations, including Strategic Medical Evacuation installation and deployment.

It will also provide access to the Miya Observation and Evaluation modules, which sit on top of the existing Miya Precision modules to which the Department of Defense already has access; these are currently licensed for use in both Strategic Air Evacuation and Tactical Air Evacuation.

In addition, Alcidion will provide ongoing support and maintenance services to ensure the successful delivery and adoption of these additional capabilities.

WHY IT IMPORTANT

Expanding the use of Miya Precision across ADF facilities will ensure that relevant and important medical information can be shared between the Department of Defense and its allies in the treatment of its members. and that longitudinal health record is available to clinicians in any setting.

TREND TO BIGGER WOMAN

In the May, Leidos, along with MediRecords, Coviu and Nous Group, signed a A$330 million ($220 million) contract to enhance ADF’s digital health capabilities over six years. The alliance will deliver a range of health technologies, including EMR, telehealth, e-prescribing, practice management, e-referral, clinical decision support, AI and data analytics Whether. It will also replace its legacy eHealth system with a Health Knowledge Management (HKM) system, which will include both Defense deployed and non-deployed environments.

Leidos partnered with Alcidion last December to work on the HKM system by aggregating health data across Defense systems to provide a single, holistic, vertical view of health and the patient’s health history. From an initial contract of AU$23.3 million ($16 million) over six years, its overall contract is now worth AU$31.7 million ($21 million).
