Air quality is deteriorating across the Midwest due to wildfire smoke in Canada: NPR

Smoke from the Canadian wildfires once again blanketed parts of the United States with a thick fog that reduced visibility and raised air quality warnings in several states.
States across the Midwest are bearing the brunt of the wildfire smoke, which briefly on Tuesday left Chicago with among the worst air quality places in the world.
Other cities – including Detroit, Milwaukee and Pittsburgh – are also facing “very unhealthy” air quality levels.
The The National Weather Service said Poor air quality caused by wildfire smoke can last for several days, although the specifics of the forecast are subject to change.

Parts of the Mississippi Valley, the Great Lakes, the Western Ohio Valley, Central Appalachians and the Mid-Atlantic were affected, the NWS said.
