Aidos Yerbossynuly lies in a coma after losing to David Morrell Jr in brutal fashion over the weekend in Minnesota. Fight writer Dan Rafael first reported the story. Morrell Jr controlled the game, but Yerbossynuly simply wouldn’t stop coming. Blood-soaked, puffy and terrifyingly messy, the Kazakh super-middleweight refused to give in and at least remained in the game until the 12th and finally when Morrell knocked him to the field with an uppercut. Thunder. Yerbossynuly had to be helped by Morrell Jr and Tony Weeks, who were adjudicating the match, with his corner afterword.

Due to the severity of the beatings, Yerbossynuly was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center. He was later said to have been in a coma due to a brain bleed. The previously undefeated Yerbossynuly entered the ring at Minneapolis’ Armoy in hopes of lifting the WBA super middleweight belt from the waistline of Morrell Jr. It was clear early on that Morrell Jr was the one with more combat skills. His sharp and clean punches repeatedly landed as the match progressed while Yerbossynuly’s face continued to show growing hurt. Despite being dropped at the twelfth minute, Yerbossynuly managed to get up and continue, leading to him being knocked down a second and final time before the final bell rang.
