The first prize winning stallion of Three Chimneys Farm Evaporation represented by his first winner on June 16 as Aguas de Cristal won the fifth race, the five-furlong maiden’s special weight class, at Monmouth Park.
Bred by Woodford Thoroughbreds, Aguas de Cristal was purchased by New Horizons Bloodstock for $75,000 at the 2023 September Yearling Sale at Keeneland and raced in his debut for Strike Stable and trainer Jorge Delgado.
Starting well, the daughter of Volatile set the pace with great energy for jockey Jairo Rendon. Entering the stretch, Aguas de Cristal overtook the leading favourite Governor me and drew to win by 4 1/2 lengths in :58.82.
Bred by Hill ‘n’ Dale Equine Holdings and Stretch Run Ventures, Volatile has shown plenty of talent on the track winning five of six starts from 2019-20. After earning his first stakes win in the 2020 Aristides Stakes listed at Churchill Downsthe son of Violence successfully advanced by taking out the Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (G1) in the Saratoga Race Course for Three Chimneys and Phoenix Thoroughbred owners.
In that gate-to-wire victory, the champion defeated Volatile Whitmore and won the 1st grade prize Mind control And Burning flame .
Aguas de Cristal was removed from the pot twice Bayern mare Cedar Hall .
Volatile tops the 2024 season at Three Chimneys for $15,000.
