After 7 years of living with her family, the dog was brought back to the shelter because she was about to become pregnant

Dogs rely on their families for love and support. They can’t defend themselves and they shouldn’t have to! When a dog is adopted, the family signs a contract to care for them forever. However, some soulless individuals do not take this oath seriously. Many rejected dogs end up in shelters or even abandoned on the streets. It’s a heartbreaking reality and animal advocates are forced to pick up the pieces. Today’s story focuses on a dog who lost. He was abandoned by the people he loved the most.

Rooney, a seven-year-old dog, had never known loneliness at the shelter until his family abandoned him shortly after his seventh birthday. Lone Star Dog Ranch & Dog Ranch Rescue revealed on Facebook that Rooney’s family surrendered him because they were expecting a child and claimed they could no longer give him the attention he needed.

Suddenly, Rooney found herself in a dark, unfamiliar shelter environment, surrounded by strangers and other scared dogs. The Facebook post emphasized the grim reality of the shelter, noting, “Dogs can smell fear in the building, they can smell [euthanasia] about dogs euthanized because of the incredible lack of space that every shelter faces.” Rooney’s world has collapsed, leaving him without any joy.

Luckily, the team from Dog Ranch Rescue, a non-profit organization in Anna, Texas, learned of Rooney’s plight and decided to intervene. An employee named Ricky quickly came to his rescue. Once at the shelter, Ricky picked up Rooney, placed him in the car and drove him to their facility. The rescue workers were heartbroken when they saw Rooney’s depressed attitude.

However, their sadness quickly turned to anger, as expressed in a dramatic Facebook post. “I’m so tired of people ‘getting their dogs out’ just because you have a baby, a change in your life, blah blah blah blah blah…” post read. “I know some people feel more sorry for that than me, but I don’t…” The author of the post also directly addressed Rooney’s former owner, asking whether the owner felt remorse or quickly forgot about Rooney. after leaving him or not.

The post ended by welcoming Rooney to their facility and promising to find him a new home where he would not be betrayed again. While Rooney is still healing from deep emotional scars, there is hope that he will recover and enjoy many more years of happiness in a loving home, as he truly deserves.
