Act Fast: Challenge the Status of the Southwest Companion Pass
Southwest Airlines launched a new status challenge promotion that allows registration Quick Rewards members Companion card for a month and a half by completing two one-way flights or one round-trip flight by May 24. The Companion Pass is a 2-for-1 ticket that allows you to bring a friend “for free” when you travel. — you just pay the tax for your friend’s ticket.
With the Companion Card being the golden goose for couples or friends looking to go away, here’s the scoop on Southwest’s recent offer.

The promotion is very simple, but there is very little time to use it.
- Register This.
- Purchase one paid return flight or two one-way flights by April 5, 2023.
- Go before May 24, 2023.
If you complete all three requirements, your Companion Pass will be eligible between August 15 and September 30, 2023.
It is important to note that the flights you book must be paid tickets to be eligible. Tickets using Rapid Rewards points are not eligible. However, flights booked with unused LUV vouchers, travel funds or gift cards will count.
Also, this doesn’t apply to previously booked flights, so if you’ve booked in advance it won’t count. However, you can try to cancel your ticket and then rebook your trip at the current price using the travel money from the original itinerary.

Finally, if you change itineraries after purchase, flights may not be eligible for the promotion.

Typically, earning a Southwest Companion Card requires 100 one-way flights on Southwest or 135,000 Companion Card eligibility points in a year. So this promotion is a great way to join the Companion Pass for a test drive later this year.
