Aaron Rodgers will officially return from his Achilles injury on Monday, and his journey back to the pitch has been documented.
The New York Jets The midfielder’s journey to recover from an Achilles tendon injury will be the focus of Netflix’s upcoming documentary “Aaron Rodgers: Enigma” The streaming service announced on MondayAs well as chronicling Rodgers’ recovery from a heel injury, the documentary will “explore his life and career through the personal and difficult periods that made him famous on and off the pitch”.
A trailer for the documentary was also released on Monday. The trailer features a scene from the film, with Rodgers talking about his mindset when making certain throws as a quarterback, as well as his approach to recovering from an Achilles tendon injury.
Rodgers tore his Achilles tendon just four plays into his first game against the Jets. Although Rodgers has repeatedly said he will attempt to return at some point in the 2023 season, he remains on the injured reserve list through the end of the year.
The Jets acquired Rodgers in a major trade before the 2023 season, giving up multiple second-round picks and a first-round pick as part of the deal with Green Bay Packers Football TeamBefore the deal, Rodgers was considered to have one of the best careers for a quarterback in NFL history during his 18 seasons with the Packers. The quarterback won four MVP awards and led Green Bay to a Super Bowl championship in the 2010 season.
Rodgers, who turns 41 in December, is hoping to win his second Super Bowl this season with the Jets. New York acquired him believing he was the missing piece after the team received strong play from its defense in 2022. With Rodgers’ addition, the Jets were considered one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl heading into the 2023 season. However, Rodgers’ injury derailed New York’s season, leaving the team with a 7-10 record for the second straight year.
With Rodgers back, the Jets have similar expectations heading into 2024. They are considered the favorites to win the AFC East, and New York is also a popular pick among analysts to reach the Super Bowl.

The Jets’ quest to play in Super Bowl LIX begins on Monday, when they face off against San Francisco 49ers. “Aaron Rodgers: Enigma” will be released on December 17, just under two months before the LIX Super Bowl.
