How does it hold up in practice? This excellent video review takes a look at the sort of performance and image quality you can expect from it in usage.

Coming to you from Jan Wegener, this great video review takes a look at the new Nikon NIKKOR Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S lens. Thanks to a Phase Fresnel element, the 600mm f/6.3 is remarkably portable, measuring less than a foot long and weighing just a little over 3 lbs. Other features include:

  • 95mm filter thread for ability to use traditional filters
  • Two extra-low dispersion elements and a short-wave refractive element for reduced chromatic aberrations
  • Nano Crystal Coating for fewer flares and reduced ghosting and deeper contrast
  • Vibration Reduction offering up to 5.5 stops of compensation
  • Nikon Stepping Motor for quiet and fast autofocus
  • Reduced focus breathing
  • Two customizable function buttons, control ring, Memory Set button, and focus range switch
  • Weather-sealed construction

Check out the video above for Wegener’s full thoughts on the new lens.
