A growing mother calf was badly wounded in the nape of the neck with a deep wound filled with maggots.
We knew they needed to be together, but the day we rescued him, we didn’t have room in the ambulance to take them both. We rushed him to the emergency room, but he was alone. The next day, after removing the maggots and cleaning the wound, our ambulance arrived with a big beautiful surprise for this little angel: her mother! In the blink of an eye, they found each other, and then this calf’s healing process could go gallop! Cleaning the wound daily and a fresh bandage helped that horrible wound heal within a few weeks.
