In the US, Ram has issued a recall of 1,500 vehicles in 2021, affecting more than 200,000 pickup trucks manufactured between 2015 and 2020.

Ram 1500 owner Jackie Clark said she tried to initiate a recall as early as 2021, but parts to fix the problem were not yet available.

While Miss Clark told WFTV Stellantis – Ram’s parent – said the owner was informed in May 2023 that the 1500’s parts were ready for installation, which she denied.

After the incident, Ms. Clark and her husband took the Ram 1500 to their dealership, but Stellantis said the company “is only responsible for repairing the recall; we cannot cover any damages after that.” .

If Ram owners ignored the automaker’s stated efforts to contact them about completing the recall, this wouldn’t be the first time this has happened.

In 2022, at least two US drivers were killed by defective Takata airbags despite each of their vehicle manufacturers being contacted more than 100 times to replace the poor quality parts.
