GMC Hummer EV Abandoned on Off-Road Trail After Suspension Failure


GM has made big waves with the launch of the GMC Hummer EV. Additionally large capacity and weight (up to 1,000 horsepower and a curb weight of nearly 9,000 pounds) is the return of one of the most capable SUVs ever made. But if a new one found abandoned on the side of an Arizona desert trail is any indication, owners can easily overcome their fears about taking this electric SUV off-road.

TikTok user Allen Skillicorn recently stumbled upon an abandoned GMC Hummer EV SUV on Arizona’s Sycamore Creek Trail. Skillicorn was driving a Porsche Cayenne on the trail when he made the discovery.

Skillicorn shows the massive SUV just lying on the road while mentioning that the tie rod on the vehicle may be broken; the passenger side wheel is going straight while the driver side wheel is turned to the right. Skillicorn moves closer to the right wheel and shows the SUV’s torn CV joint while mentioning that “there’s a lot of grease there.”

It’s not known exactly what caused this type of damage on the Hummer. It’s hard to say. A quick check online didn’t turn up any issues with the owner. Independence experiment The Hummer EV’s off-roading shows it’s capable, even with gimmicky features like CrabWalk.

This could also indicate an owner who doesn’t know what the hell they’re doing. The trail the Hummer broke down on is part of an 11-mile route. marked as “quite challenging.” The Hummer driver could easily have been overdoing it.
