Batman fans rejoice: you can get a free ride in the Caped Crusader’s Batmobile in Australia, but only for a limited time.
To celebrate Batman Day on September 21, Uber has partnered with DC and Warner Bros. Discovery Australia to give superhero fans rides in a replica of the Batmobile.
Based on Tim Burton’s 1989 Batmobile Batman – starring Michael Keaton as the eponymous protagonist – the unique Uber will be available in Sydney from September 20 to 21, before moving to Adelaide from September 27 to 28.

Anyone using the Uber app within 5km of the respective cities’ central business districts can use the service between 11am and 3pm, but only one passenger at a time and not in the rain as the high-tech Batmobile doesn’t have windshield wipers.
Inside, the car rides on a custom-designed chassis with a V8 engine providing power – unfortunately, the jet engine and afterburner are just for show.
There’s no word on whether the Dark Knight-era Tumbler will hit the streets of the Australian city next Batman Day.
