Donald Trump, who certainly isn’t afraid of facing Kamala Harris again, has said he won’t debate her a second time.

Two days after rambling nonsense about pets being eaten and babies being executed after they’re born, Donald Trump declared that he would not debate Kamala Harris For the second time, he absurdly claimed that he was the winner of Tuesday night’s debate.

In a post on Truth Social, the GOP candidate told his followers: “When a boxer loses, the first words out of his mouth are, ‘I WANT A FIGHT AGAIN.’ The polls clearly show that I won the Debate with Comrade Kamala Harris, the Radical Left Candidate for the Democratic Party, on Tuesday night, and she immediately called for a Second Debate. She and Crooked Joe have destroyed our Country, with millions of criminals and lunatics pouring into the United States, completely unchecked and unchecked, and with Inflation bankrupting our Middle Class. Everyone knows this, and all the other problems caused by Kamala and Joe – This was discussed in great detail in the First Debate with Joe and the Second Debate with Comrade Harris…. KAMALA SHOULD FOCUS ON WHAT HE SHOULD HAVE DONE IN THE PAST FOUR YEARS. THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!”

In fact, Harris’s team called for a second debate, presumably because they saw how skillfully she took down the former president, with the vice president presenting her vision for the country while making the former president look small and insane. While it’s unclear how her debate performance will translate to undecided voters, it’s clear that the majority of debate watchers believe Harris won, and not by a wide margin. A CNN poll showed the vice president winning the debate 63% to Trump’s 37%, while a YouGov poll put it at 54% to Trump’s 31%.

Meanwhile, a Morning Consult poll conducted the day after the debate showed the Democratic candidate leading Trump by five points, while:

Trump, on the other hand, has lost support. Before the debate, 46% of respondents said they would vote for the former president if the election were held today. After Tuesday’s debate, that number dropped to 45%.

Most of Harris’ support comes from Democrats, but she leads Trump among independents, 46% to his 40%, according to the poll.

“It’s too early to tell whether Harris’s debate performance was the primary driver of our latest head-to-head numbers, as our near-term trends suggest she built momentum ahead of Tuesday’s televised matchup,” Morning Consult analysts wrote. But the debate, which was widely viewed as a success, should help her maintain that momentum, they wrote.

Yes, there’s a reason a second Harris-Trump face-off isn’t happening (for now), but it’s probably not because the Vice President thinks she’s lost.
