Kia EV3 GT will be a 250kW dual-motor electric car

Kia’s global team has revealed preliminary details about the upcoming dual-motor AWD and GT AWD versions, likely to launch in 2025.

Kia also revealed a target of 0-100km/h acceleration in under 6.0 seconds, which would put the little EV3 GT in the luxury hatchback segment, as well as into the hot EV segment of other brands like Cupra and Volkswagen.

Meanwhile, the regular EV3 AWD will offer 385Nm of torque from its dual-motor all-wheel drive system – no power output yet – and a target 0-100km/h time of under 7.0 seconds, around 1.0 seconds quicker than the 150kW FWD version.

In Australia, the mid-range Sportage SX+ starts from $42,050 plus on-road costs with a 2.0-litre petrol engine and front-wheel drive, rising to $47,450 with a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel with four-wheel drive.
