2024 Ora 07 Performance in Malaysia – full specs 408 PS/680 Nm EV, 483 km WLTP range, RM190k

Featured here in Aprilall electric GWM Day 07 available in Malaysia in two versions, a long-range version (which we previously covered in posts in the library) and EfficiencySeen here in this photo gallery. At RM189,800 excluding on-road costs, the Ora 07 Performance is the more expensive of the pair, at around RM20,000.

For the extra money, you get an extra motor at the rear, up from the single-motor setup up front on the Long Range. The dual-motor electric powertrain provides all-wheel drive and, of course, a power increase, doubling on the Long Range to 408 PS and 680 Nm.

That cuts the 0-62 mph time by almost half, with the Performance taking 4.3 seconds to complete the feat, compared to the 7.9 seconds needed for the Long Range. Top speed, however, is only marginally better at 112 mph (170 mph for the LR).

Like the Ora 07 Long Range, the Performance is equipped with an 83.5 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery, which can be charged via AC (11 kW, eight hours to full) or DC (88 kW, 32 minutes from 30 to 80% SoC).

The more powerful performance means it sacrifices range compared to the LR, with 483km of WLTP-rated range available on a single charge. The LR offers 640km, but it’s worth noting that’s on the more lenient NEDC cycle, so real-world figures, at least adjusted for WLTP, mean the gap between the two cars is narrower.

The wheels are 19-inchers, an inch larger than the LR, in a five-oval design and wrapped in 235/45 Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires at all four corners. The higher-powered variant is also denoted by red brake calipers.

Inside, the Ora 07 gets a covered digital instrument cluster that houses a 10.25-inch display, while infotainment is provided by a 12.3-inch central display that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s a Qi wireless charging pad for charging mobile devices.

The Performance variant also gets signature brown faux leather upholstery, which is standard black on the LR variant, although buyers of the latter can upgrade to this colour for an additional RM2,500.

Other standard features include keyless entry and start, a head-up display, power front seats with ventilation and massage, ambient lighting (with a rhythm mode that pulsates to the music you’re playing), an 11-speaker Infinity audio system, a 360-degree camera system, and a hands-free power liftgate.

Safety features on the Ora 07 include automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go function, lane keeping assist, Intelligent Evade system that helps create more space in the lane for large vehicles such as trucks, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert with automatic braking, traffic sign recognition, parking assist and automatic high beams.

The GWM Ora 07 Performance as well as the Long Range version are both covered by a six-year, 150,000km warranty, with an eight-year, 180,000km warranty on the battery and drive motor.
