While the post doesn’t make it clear whether the car in the photo is the Charger Daytona EV or the accompanying gasoline-powered model, which uses a turbocharged inline-six engine, the police decals on the hood suggest that the concept has an R-Wing front blade reserved for the electric version.

The Charger Daytona will be offered as a three-door or five-door hatchback, with the latter offering rear space for occupants. Battery 100.5 kwh (usable 93.5 kwh) Packages offer up to Range 317 miles in civilian models, and a maximum DC fast-charging rate of 183 kW allows for a 20-80% charge in about 28 minutes. Less relevant to law enforcement is the Fratzonic exhaust system that simulates the noise and vibration of a now-discontinued V-8 engine.

This will be first all-electric police car offered by Stellantis in the US, but other EVs like Ford F-150 Lightning And Chevrolet Blazer Electric Car has been converted for law enforcement. The city of South Pasadena, California, even claims to have a national first all-electric police car fleetAlthough this is an exception, US police departments have been slow to adopt electric vehicles, in part due to a lack of suitable options.

Given how popular the old Charger was in police fleets, perhaps the Charger Daytona will offer an all-electric platform that better suits their needs and help spur wider adoption of electric vehicles in law enforcement. Meanwhile, the civilian Charger Daytona is expected to hit dealerships later this year with a base price of $61,590.
