Cardinals WR Zay Jones, Rams LT Alaric Jackson suspended by NFL


Arizona Cardinals receiver Zay Jones was suspended without pay for the first five games of the season for violating American Football‘Personal Conduct Policy,’ the league announced on Friday.

The tournament did not disclose the reason for the suspension.

In 2023, Jones was arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge in Florida. Police said he had been arguing with the child’s mother over custody and left scratches on her neck with his fingernails. The charge was dismissed in March.

The 29-year-old will be eligible to return to action for the Cardinals. October 13 game at Green Bay.

The Cardinals signed the veteran to a one-year deal in May, hoping he could provide depth at a position that includes rookies. Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson And Greg Dortch.

Jones had his best NFL season in 2022 Jacksonvillecaught 82 passes for 823 yards and five touchdowns. The 6-foot-2-inch, 200-pound player was a second-round pick of the East Carolina in 2017 by Buffalo.

Los Angeles Rams Basketball Team left solution Alaric Jackson was also suspended without pay for the first two games of the season for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

The NFL announced the suspension on Friday, providing no further details.

Jackson started 15 games and one playoff game at left guard last season for the Rams. He has been Los Angeles’ starting left guard for most of the past two seasons since Andrew Whitworth retired, although he missed half of the 2022 season with a blood clot in his leg.

Jackson returned to the Rams on a one-year deal this offseason after signing as a restricted free agent for $4.89 million.

Joe Notes Noteboom looks set to replace Jackson during his suspension. The former starter received a three-year, $40 million contract extension to return to the Rams in 2022, but Noteboom was beaten out by Jackson for the starting job at left guard.

Jackson will miss the Rams’ season opener at Detroit And ArizonaHe will be eligible to return for the home opener on Week 3 against San Francisco.

Rams will also be without a backup QB Jimmy Garoppolo for their first two matches. He was suspended. for what he says was a mistake in applying for a medical-use exemption for an unspecified substance last season with Las Vegas.
