Over the years, there have been many cases of cars seems to be criticized for no other reason than it seems like the popular thing to do. Often that hate comes from people who have never even met the car, don’t understand me of it or in the case of a newer model with a legendary name, people just can’t seem to forget the past.
Take the Acura NSX. The original car was great. Honda wanted to prove that it could make a supercar you could live with every day without the quirks and poor reliability of Italian cars. When the new NSX debuted in 2016, it was immediately derided. Fans and followers alike considered it an abomination. How could a nearly $200,000 supercar with a hybrid engine and all-wheel drive carry the NSX name?
Many of them will never drive it. Others will be too stuck in the past to realize that despite what they think, the NSX is good. Driven NSX Type SI would say that while it may not be as simple as the original NSX, it still does one of the original’s missions: being a supercar you can live with every day. A twin-turbo hybrid supercar with nearly 600 horsepower and getting 21 mpg? Why would you hate something like that?
