JPJ adds one hour of reconciliation operations, twice a week in KL, Sgor, Penang, Johor after SSPA raises wages

JPJ adds one hour of reconciliation operations, twice a week in KL, Sgor, Penang, Johor after SSPA raises wages

JPJ will add an extra hour of reconciliation operations to two days a week, after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced a pay hike under the Public Service Pay System (SSPA) last week.

“JPJ is determined and committed to improving the standards and quality of our services to the public, especially providing services in every JPJ state and its branches, as per the wishes of the prime minister,” a statement from the road transport department said.

The one-hour counter extension will take place on Mondays and Fridays for JPJ at WP Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Penang. In Johor, the extended hours will take place on Sundays and Thursdays. These days are classified as busy/congested days with high customer traffic.

The expanded counter hours will begin today, August 19, and will be rolled out in phases. JPJ said it will also set up a committee to focus on improving quality, especially in counter service.

The SSPA, which comes into effect from December 1, will see civil servants in the executive, managerial and professional categories get a 15% pay hike. Those in senior management will get a 7% increase.
