VW ID.Buzz Conversion Van Brings Fresh Sense to the Electric Era

A Seattle-based company is offering Volkswagen ID.Buzz camper conversion Brings back the vibrant feel of the hippie VW Microbus.

Peace Vans, which specializes in building camper vans, is offering three such conversion options for the all-electric ID.Buzz, with Delivery is expected to begin in November. This is being done independently of VW, which has no official camper-to-van conversion partner in the U.S. So far, the automaker only plans to supply camper-friendly accessories to ID.Buzz.

The company’s Buzz.Camper is considered to be complete mobile home with a living area that can be converted into a bed, wardrobe, stove, sink and on-board water storage. This requires removing both rear seats (the ID. Buzz will be sold in the US just a three-row passenger car). An alternative DOT-approved rear seat setup is in development, which Peace Vans hopes to have approved by mid- to late-2025.

The Buzz.Box focuses more on foodwith a modular rear galley that replaces the third row of seats. It includes a 25-liter refrigerator, stove, sink, water tank, and multiple prep surfaces, along with wireless device charging and an integrated sound and lighting system. The Buzz.Boz.Sleeper adds what Peace Vans calls a “nearly full-size” sleeping platform that requires folding the second row of seats.

Car US pricing has not yet been announced. for ID.Buzz itself, but Peace Vans is charges $7,995 for Buzz.Box and $10,995 for Buzz.Box.Sleeper installation, in addition to the price of the vehicle itself. Pricing for the Buzz.Camper option will be announced in Q3 of this year. Peace Vans will also sell a limited number of pre-built ID.Buzz campers, allowing customers to pick up their vehicles with the conversion work completed.

Peace Vans is also working on a version of the iconic “pop top” roof of its classic VW vans for the ID.Buzz. The company hopes to have it finished by the end of 2025, and will offer customers who buy its other ID.Buzz conversions a head start. And the company notes on its website that all designs are still in the works and subject to change as development continues. But, with how long For ID.Buzz to reach the US, potential customers will have to be patient.
