But when it came time to pick up the deserving dog, these heartless people never showed up. The shelter staff were heartbroken, and so was Zare.
In a touching video shared on TikTok Posted by the Livingston County Animal Shelter under the username livcohumane, a dog named Zare is depicted lying sadly in his kennel, looking as if he understands the disappointment he just faced.
The video is captioned, “Position: you thought you were going to get adopted last week but your family never showed up for you.” A representative from the Livingston County Animal Shelter in Rowe, Illinois, said Newsweek Zare came to their shelter about six months ago.
“He is almost 4 years old and we believe he is a Lab mix. He was transferred to us from another shelter, so we don’t know much about his past,” the spokesperson said. explained. “He is the SWEETEST boy and would love to hug and kiss someone endlessly. His ideal family would be someone who takes him out for a little run, but he loves to cuddle with that person just as much.”
The videotape quickly gained attention on social media, with over 19,400 views and 1,883 likes to date. One user named Figham commented, “Illinois help, there must be someone out there who can love this baby.” Another user, chickenjoe, added, “Someone please adopt this beautiful baby.”
