Launched in November 2022, the EX90 was originally scheduled to begin deliveries in early 2024, but was delayed due to software issues that appear to have not been fully resolved. Volvo now plans to deliver the first cars to customers in the United States in the second half of this year and has EX90 production started at the factory in South Carolina.

The Polestar 3 is expected to be produced alongside the EX90 in South Carolina, and it’s plagued by the same software issues. The two SUVs are built on the same platform, but the Polestar will only be sold with two rows of seats, while the Volvo is only a three-row model. It’s unclear whether the Polestar 3 will also be sold with the missing features, or if Polestar will increase the price.
