Underwater Club (TUC), the underwater photography school founded by professional photographer and Nauticam/Mares Ambassador Nicolas Remy, will talk about the art black water photography in the webinar in August. Nicolas will join Anthony Berberiana pioneer in blackwater photography based in French Polynesia, for the event taking place on August 11 (US time).
Shooting underwater with friends Fabien MichenetAnthony has been exploring the deep waters off Tahiti since 2011—long before blackwater diving became a “thing.” He has collaborated with scientists to discover many species previously unknown to science, contributed to several books on marine biodiversity—and even had two new species named after him. His blackwater research has won awards in several competitions, including “Best of Show” in Our World Underwater 2015 International Underwater Photography and Video Contest organized by DPGand the winner Underwater category in the 2017 Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.
During the two-hour session, you can expect an in-depth exploration—intentional pun—into the world of blackwater, with Anthony showing off the many creatures he’s encountered over his 13+ years of blackwater diving, discussing the photography gear you’ll need, and of course the techniques needed to get epic blackwater shots. As always, attendees can ask Anthony questions directly during the Q&A portion of the session.
TUC members join for free, while non-members will need to purchase event tickets for AU$49 (about US$35)—which is also the price of a monthly membership, so it’s a great opportunity to join the club and take advantage of all member benefits.
