What were you? made at 14? Are you? look at the nice cars in the parking lotor even first taste of life behind the wheel? If I had to guess, you probably don’t Standing on the Formula Drift podium like 14 year old Hiroya Minowa last week.

Minowa took second place in Formula Drift St. Louis, knocking three-time champion Frederic Aasbo out of the competition. Only another champion, James Deane, could stop the teenager from winning in the final round.

Highlights of Formula DRIFT St. Louis | Presented by Type S Auto

Minowa has been driving for half his life, since he was 7, and was drifting proficiently by the time he was 11. Now he competes behind the wheel of an FR-S powered by a VR38 engine from a Nissan GT-R. When I was 14, I really wanted a Scion tC. I think Minowa would win.

The highlight reel shows Minowa’s truly spectacular fight with Deane, demonstrating the skill of this youngster. I think we will all be following his career, in the years and fights to come, with great interest.
